Whatsapp Community
Silver Wing has several WhatsApp groups used by individuals, such as a For Sale group, and one for the radio-controlled boats group. Some of these are now linked together under a ‘Community’ for the whole club, which brings together the underlying group chats. There’s also a “general” group which has the most members and would be the best one for people to join if the others aren’t so relevant.
The advantage of the Community is that a Community admin can send an announcement to all groups, to allow quick reminders to be sent about forthcoming events, or urgent announcements about any issues affecting the whole club. Individual members can reply to these announcements, but can’t directly announce to the whole Community themselves – you’d need to ask an admin to do that. You can of course chat as normal within the individual groups.
If you haven’t already joined one of the Community groups you may do so using the link or QR code below. If you are reading this on your phone, simply click the link and it will take you to the SWSC WhatsApp Community. If you are reading this on another computer, open the WhatsApp camera on your phone (which is at the top of the main screen showing all your chats and groups) and point it at the QR code, and it will allow you to join the Community. You can then join the individual groups (e.g. “general”).
